Journalist and documentarian Tyrnauer (Valentino: The Last Emperor) turns his attention to legendary writer and urban activist Jane Jacobs and the David-and-Goliath battle she fought over urban planning in New York more than 50 years ago. The historic neighbourhoods of Greenwich Village and Little Italy are under threat from divisive and destructive ‘expressways’. Exciting and inspirational, here is a much needed lesson in how the power of the people can overcome the self-serving plans of the rich and powerful. (Read more…)
