Next Seasons Films

The film selection list for next season is now available by clicking here. Members, please select up to 16 films, from the 32 on offer, that you would like to see next season and email the numbers to Peter Bunyan – the deadline has been extended to Friday 12 April. The Selection Committee will be meeting in the coming weeks to begin creating next season’s programme.

Half-Season Membership

As we have reached the half way stage in the season, the price of membership for the remainder of the season has dropped to £32.50.

After an 8-year-old girl is convicted of being a witch, she is sent to a camp in the desert.  Choices are offered her: accept her supernatural branding and live a tethered life as a sorceress, or cut her ties with local tradition, be transformed into a goat, killed and  eaten for supper!  A wonderfully daring, satirical parable of magic, misogyny and superstition.. Our Next Presentation:  THE NUN (1966)

The Cramphorn Theatre, CHELMSFORD – Tuesday 26th March @ 8PM

CFC presents one of the most breathtaking and emotional works of French cinema, newly available in glorious 4k digital restoration.  Nouvelle Vague icon Anna Karina gives an extraordinary performance as Suzanne, a young woman forced against her will to take vows as a nun.  The film was highly controversial when released, due to its incendiary portrayal of life within the Catholic church.  The Nun is a cornerstone the French New Wave.
