The framing ratio of the film seemed all important in registering the visual, artistic nature of it. Yes, the subject matter has been done before in terms of the issues around polygamy and how women can or can’t shape their lives under patriarchy. It made me think of ‘The Beguiled’ which we had last season: framing a culture of women trying to survive.
