  1. Far far too long. I could have done without the apeman. None of it my idea of a comedy or Christmas film!

  2. Definitely a ‘marmite’ film, with members either loving or hating it (and nothing in between). Whilst a biting satire on modern art and the Bourgeoisie (in a discussion after the film, it was compared with the films of Luis Buñuel), there were few out-and-out laughs, and not what the Club normally show as a pre-Christmas Comedy.
This is the second time I’ve seen it – however the 1st was on a tiny screen on board an Singapore Airways Airbus, flying to New Zealand, 1st time on the big screen. Whilst I enjoyed it overall, I did feel it flagged in several places and could have done with some tighter editing. I also got the feeling the director was having difficulty finding an ending to the film.
