  1. When reviewed in the Daily Telegraph, Tim Robey described this film as being like several episodes of “Last Of The Summer Wine” as directed by Ingmar Bergman. Although fairly short, this film managed to pack a lot in it’s 81 minutes, being both entertaining and somewhat educational (in that it gave an insight into life in a small Icelandic farming community). Also, for a film without much spoken dialogue, there was a surprising number of languages involved (I detected Icelandic, Russian, English, Swedish, Spanish and German).

This was the second time I’ve seen this film, and both times there was an audible reaction from the audience when the statement about no horses being hurt during the making of the film appeared.
