As ever, we are always interested to receive any additional comments people may have on this film.
That’s two films that CFC shown from the former Soviet Union this season (“The Tribe” being Ukrainian), and both paint a very bleak picture of post-communist life. The difference between the two films; in “Leviathan” the audience is able to empathise with the main characters (whereas The Tribe deliberately maintained a degree of separation between audience and the actors).
A couple of feedback responses commented that they thought the film better on second viewing, and I would concur with that.
