Over the course of a night and the following morning, a state prosecutor, a medical examiner and a group of policemen accompany two prisoners who have agreed to take them to the body of a man they have murdered and buried in the wilds of Anatolia. Leading Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s latest film isn’t really a ‘police procedural’ drama in the usual sense; rather it’s a character study and an exploration of the human condition. A meticulously crafted and utterly gripping film.
