At least modern interpretations tend to have more sympathy towards the Native Americans than the traditional “Cowboys vs. Indians” films of my youth. This film did, however, treat the subject with a delicious slice of irony.
The obligatory shoot out at the end, has become so cliched, but then it wouldn’t be a Western without one.
