more info

In 1941 the Nazis succeed in taking over half of Europe and part of Russia, but Hitler fails to take Leningrad after a four-month-long offensive. He realizes that Leningrad could not be taken by force and now he will surround the city for 3 years, and starve 3 million people to death. In the midst of this horrific siege a young English journalist, Kate Davis, finds herself among survivors within the famished city. Alone, she is helped by Nina Tsvetnova, a young and idealistic police officer, and together they will fight for their own, and others’ survival.
